What is the iTrip H-100 trip meter used for, and who is it for?

The tripmeter is used to measure and display the distance traveled, as well as additional parameters crucial for a rally co-driver. It is designed for rally co-drivers competing in off-road rallies, especially where standard tripmeters do not function correctly or tend to fail.

What capabilities does the iTrip H-100 Rally Computer offer?

driving according to the roadbook
calibrating to distances provided in the roadbook and adjusting to the length of the organizer’s calibration section
adjusting measured distances through distance correction
navigating to virtual WAYPOINTS
tracking vehicle speed
maintaining the maximum speed specified by the organizer
displaying measured values to the driver
monitoring power supply voltage and, consequently, the voltage in the car’s electrical system

Key Features and Capabilities.

The most important function is distance measurement and displaying its value on the screen.

  • Measurement of short TRIP (PARTIAL) distance with reset capability
  • Measurement of long ODO (TOTAL) distance with the following options:
    • Reset
    • Quick adjustment
    • Full adjustment
  • Reverse distance counting
  • Measurement and indication of supply voltage
  • Measurement and indication of speed
  • Heading indication
  • SPEED LIMIT, signaling exceeding the set speed via sounds and external spotlight activation (not included)
  • data transmission to driver’s display8 (not included)
  • support for external reset button:
    • for resetting the short TRIP distance (not included)
    • resetting the short TRIP distance and long ODO correction (not included)

A special version of the tripmeter, featuring azimuth routing, allows plotting a WAYPOINT based on heading and distance, to which the tripmeter will navigate, displaying:

  • Distance to WAYPOINT
  • Heading to WAYPOINT

How is distance measurement performed?

Precise distance measurement is achieved using 2 speed sensors and GPS data. Several measurement configurations are possible:

  • Measurement solely from speed sensors
  • Measurement solely from GPS
  • Measurement using speed sensors and GPS (recommended)

The tripmeter has a calibration feature allowing adaptation to the vehicle and to measurements performed by the rally organizer.

When using sensors only, measurements can be quickly switched to GPS.

Tripmeter Construction.

The trip meter is designed to operate in extremely harsh conditions. The casing is made of 1.5mm thick steel sheet, welded and soldered to ensure hermetic sealing. Double seals are used. All connections are hermetically sealed. The casing features 8 M4 threaded mounting points.

The electronics are designed for automotive applications, resistant to interference and power surges. At the heart of the rally computer is a modern, highly efficient ST processor and a GPS module from the Swiss company uBlox.

Data is displayed on a backlit LCD screen. All buttons are also backlit.
